Spray foam removal in Innsworth Gloucestershire is a specialist job, and it is the only thing our team does. Innsworth sits just north of Gloucester, close to the M5, and its housing stock is a real mix: 1950s and 1960s semis, RAF-era homes around Innsworth Park, and newer builds towards Longlevens. Plenty of those lofts were foamed in the 2000s and 2010s under a government-backed insulation push, and now the same homeowners are being told by lenders that the foam has to come out before a sale can complete. We have worked these streets since 2021, so we know which roof constructions turn up on Innsworth Lane, Churchdown Lane and the Tewkesbury Road side of the village. We use dry ice blasting machines, boroscopes and thermal imaging cameras to strip open cell and closed cell foam without wrecking the timbers underneath. If you have been searching for Innsworth spray foam removal or spray foam removal near Innsworth, we can usually survey within 48 hours and quote the same day.
Whether you need a full loft strip before a mortgage valuation or a quick assessment after a surveyor's report, we run the same kit and the same process across Innsworth. Most jobs here are residential lofts and attics, but we also handle cavity wall foam, roof-level foam and commercial units near the Tewkesbury Road industrial edge of the village. If you have been typing spray foam removal near me in Innsworth into Google, this is the page for you.
Innsworth has a particular set of conditions that make spray foam go wrong. The village is damp, the housing stock is old enough to have been retro-fitted but young enough that people are now selling, and a lot of the foam was installed without any thought for roof ventilation. These are the problems we deal with most often.
Gloucestershire sees around 120 rain days a year, and foam sprayed directly onto roof timbers seals moisture in rather than out. Over time the rafters stay wet, and rot sets in from the inside where you cannot see it.
Lenders and surveyors have become much stricter about spray foam, particularly where it covers the whole roof deck and blocks ventilation. In Innsworth's older housing stock, that combination is common and it stops sales and remortgages.
Foam sprayed over the eaves and between rafters cuts off the airflow the roof was designed to have. Warm moist air from the house then condenses on cold surfaces in the loft, and the problem gets worse every winter.
Foam installed in Innsworth lofts during the 2000s retrofit push is now 15 to 20 years old. Open cell foam in particular goes brittle, loses its bond to the timber and starts to crumble, which is messy and reduces any insulation value it had.
Most people in Innsworth do not call us because they want the foam gone. They call because something has gone wrong, or because someone else has told them it has to go. If you have been searching for loft spray foam removal in Innsworth, these are the triggers we see most often.
A surveyor or lender has flagged the foam
This is the number one reason Innsworth homeowners call us. A mortgage valuation or homebuyer survey has noted spray foam in the loft, and the lender wants it removed before they will proceed. It is urgent, and it needs documenting properly.
Damp or staining on the ceiling below the loft
Foam sprayed onto roof timbers traps moisture and blocks ventilation. In Innsworth's damp climate that shows up as brown staining or a musty smell in the room below. It usually means the roof space cannot breathe and the timbers are getting wet.
Foam is cracking, crumbling or falling away
Older foam in Innsworth lofts often goes brittle and starts to separate from the rafters. Once it cracks, it stops insulating properly and can drop debris onto the loft floor. It also makes any future inspection harder.
You can smell damp or see mould in the loft
A musty smell in the loft is a strong signal that moisture is trapped. Foam that covers the whole roof deck can hide the problem for years. We use a moisture meter and thermal imaging camera to find where the water is sitting.
You are planning a loft conversion or re-roof
Foam has to come out before a loft conversion can be signed off, and it makes a re-roof far harder if it is left in place. Removing it first saves money and lets your builder work with clean timbers.
Innsworth is a compact village, but the road layout around the old RAF site and the M5 junction can catch people out. We use the landmarks below to navigate and to give customers a clear idea of where we are and how quickly we can reach them. If you are near Innsworth Park or St Mary's Church, you are only a few minutes from most of the streets we work on.
Innsworth Park sits in the middle of the village and is an easy reference point for the surrounding residential streets. If you are near the park, you are within a few minutes of Innsworth Lane and the older housing stock we work on most.
The former RAF Innsworth site is a major orientation point on the north side of the village. It helps us plan routes to Churchdown Lane and the streets that back onto the old station perimeter.
St Mary's Church is a well-known local landmark and a useful marker for the older part of Innsworth. Properties around the church tend to be period cottages and older semis, which often need gentler removal methods.
Longlevens borders Innsworth to the south and is a handy reference for customers on the boundary between the two areas. It also helps us route between jobs when we are working across GL2 9 and GL3 1.

Foam problems in Innsworth get worse in the wetter months and more obvious in the colder ones. Autumn is when most people notice something is wrong, because the rain starts and the heating goes on. But the work can be done year-round, and there are advantages to each season.
Spring is a good time to book a survey in Innsworth. The worst of the winter damp has passed, so moisture readings are more reliable and any rot is easier to see once the loft has dried out a little.
Tip: Book your survey before the summer rush. If a lender has flagged the foam, spring is the ideal window to get it removed and documented.
Summer is our busiest period for loft work in Innsworth. Warm, dry lofts make removal faster and cleaner, and there is less risk of rain getting into the roof space while the foam is being stripped.
Tip: Get your quote in early. If you are selling in autumn, having the removal done over summer means one less thing to hold up the sale.
Autumn is when Innsworth homeowners notice problems. The rain returns, the heating goes on, and damp patches or musty smells appear. Demand for surveys jumps in October and November.
Tip: If you spot staining or smell damp, call us before winter. Finding trapped moisture early usually means less timber damage and a smaller bill.
Winter is the hardest season for foamed roofs in Innsworth. Condensation builds up in cold lofts, and any trapped moisture can freeze and expand, causing more damage to timbers and any remaining foam.
Tip: Keep the loft hatch closed and the roof space ventilated where you can. If water comes through after a storm, call our 24/7 line and we will attend.
